CONNECT BEYOND RETURNS

Connect Beyond Festival returns to The Orange Peel in May 2026 with thoughtfully curated panels, readings, performances, and screenings featuring filmmakers, musicians, authors, academics, journalists, and activists.

And new for 2026, we’re pleased to introduce…

A black and white illustration of a backyard scene with a house, trees, and clouds. Birds are in birdhouses on tree branches, with one singing and another looking out. A man is seated at a piano, and a woman and child are walking hand in hand on a path. Fluffy clouds are in the sky, and flowers are blooming in the foreground.

THE COMMUNITY GARDEN

The Community Garden is an interactive art environment that re-imagines community services as elements of a living garden. Participants are invited to explore how we nurture a just and equitable community by interacting with the art.

Illustration of a house with tree branches growing from it, clouds, a large red circle in the background, and stylized clouds and geometric shapes.

WHY A GARDEN?

A garden symbolizes care, interdependence, and continual tending. Each element of The Community Garden represents a civic system (housing, transit, wellness, governance) as a natural element, playfully re-imagining how each of them shapes our daily lives.
